Why Most Prompts Fail
Most beginners write prompts like this: "A woman walking in a city at night." The AI generates something technically correct and completely forgettable. It looks like stock footage. It has no soul.
Professional prompts don't describe what is in the frame — they describe how it feels to watch it.
Don't describe the scene. Describe the feeling of watching the scene. That is what separates a prompt engineer from a filmmaker.
The Wild Frame Prompt Framework
Every prompt we write at Wild Frame has 5 layers. Miss any one and the output degrades significantly.
Who/what is in the frame and what are they doing. Be specific. "A woman in her 30s in a red saree, walking slowly" — not "a woman walking."
Where and when. "On a rain-slicked Mumbai street, 2am, orange sodium streetlight reflecting in puddles." Time of day and weather transform every shot.
How the camera moves and sees. "Slow dolly in, eye level, shallow depth of field, bokeh background." This single layer turns amateur AI output into cinema.
The emotional quality of the image. "Melancholic, intimate, quiet tension." Or: "Euphoric, kinetic, saturated." Tell the AI how the viewer should feel.
"Cinematography style of Sanjay Leela Bhansali" or "shot like a Nike ad" or "in the visual language of a 2020s streaming thriller." References shortcut hours of prompt iteration.
Before vs After — Real Examples
- A young Indian man, early 20s, sitting alone at a dhaba at 3am
- Single tungsten bulb overhead, steam rising from chai
- Medium close-up, slight tilt down, static camera
- Mood: exhausted but determined, post-hustle stillness
- Style: intimate documentary, desaturated warm tones
- A man sitting at a food stall at night
- He looks tired
- Cinematic
- (nothing else)
- Result: generic stock footage feel
